"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." ~~Wisdom from Dr. Seuss:

I'll have to be honest, I go back and fourth between hating and loving the holiday seasons (Thanksgiving & Christmas). When being with family is more like this  It gets kind of iffy at times between the hussle and bussle.  Some days I wake up feeling like Brad and Kate off of 4 Christmases.

Who doesn't have family they wish they could pretend they didn't have at times?  How many times I felt like my family was like this part of the movie, and when I really want is to feel like this part all of the movie during the whole Christmas Season.

I want to fly off to some tropical local.  Then the next minute I can't get enough time in during the season.  I love the decorating, baking and cooking.  The opportunity to be with people you love and don't get to see very often.
I have tried to jump feet first into the spirit.  I have already watched 4 Christmases,
The Christmas Card,
   and Fred Claus for inspiration.
Ok, maybe 4 Christmases wasn't insprirational but it is quite funny.

This weekend will be inventory at work, starting Thursday night.  They moved it from the day after Thanksgiving to the first weekend in Dec.  The following weekend is our Church Christmas party.  I haven't found anything to wear.  I have a gray jacket I want to wear but nothing to go with it yet. I'll find something I am sure.
I know, very boring post.  I am all out of fresh.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

So I'm a little early

I'm a little early for Christmas I know.  I mean really, Thanksgiving isn't within a week yet.
Since losing everything you have to get what you can get as you go so having said that,
Christmas, YAY!!
This year the question has been how many trees can I have?
DH said how many?  ONE.
I finally got him over that notion.
We agreed on 2.  One in the front room to see from the road.
The second for the den & family get together.
For the front room I bought a flocked tree, which I want to do in red.
For the den I wanted a regular green tree that is decorated in primitive/country.
Decorations are so expensive!!  Especially when starting from scratch!
I found these great little gems at a very cheap cheap price!

I got two of everything.  Some more.  I just loved them.
This is my tree topper.  I forgot to turn her around, sorry!!

And this is for my front porch.
In case you don't know what that is, it's a tobacco basket.
These pictures really do not do them justice.
I will try to do more after I get everything up!
That is how I spent my weekend at Christmas open houses.
(btw, I bought all my ornaments at the dollar general store for a $1)

I am ashamed, honest!!!

I am really.  I mean here I am where I have access now to internet every day, and I never blog.
I didn't realize this old house was going to take so much of my time!!!
Not to mention I HATE WALLPAPER and the inventor of it.
I am trying my best to get it down, but it is wearing on my patiences.  I'll be honest.
If anyone has any suggestions on quick ways of getting it down, (no I'm not willing to burn the house down, yet)
Please let me know!!!!

I did get to have a nice visit with Kat this weekend.  Showed her a lil bit of Lexington, nothing like we had planned. We did go to Gigi's for cupcakes, yum.  I did buy a few cool things for the house, and 5 new books to read at Half Priced Books.  I know, when will I read them, right??

Ok, back to the hideous house of wallpaper!!!
